Q: I don’t need the entire weekend rental for my wedding. Can I just use it Saturday. A: Yes, you can just use the venue Saturday. The Pricing is for Friday morning to Sunday afternoon and the price will not change. How you decide to use your rental time is up to you.
Q: I will be doing the ceremony elsewhere, is there a discount if we do only the reception at The Stables. A: There is no discount for having the ceremony elsewhere. You are paying for the rental period of Friday morning to Sunday afternoon. How you decide to use your rental time is up to you.
Q: Is there a space to get ready at? A: Yes! The lower level of the home next door has plenty of room for your bridal party to get dressed in. There is a large space with a sofa, table and chairs, TV, fridge and a rack to hang belongings on. There is also a full bathroom along with an outdoor patio space. You will have your own private entrance and will receive a code to be able to access.
Q: Can we choose our own caterer or bring in our own food? A: Yes! We do not restrict you to a list of caterers. We also do not take a fee from the caterer. You may bring in your own food although we do highly recommend using a licensed caterer. We do have some caterers we can recommend for you.
Q: Can we bring in our own alcohol? A: No, you are not allowed to bring your own alcohol onto the property of The Stables. Any Coolers from party buses etc will need to be locked into vehicles. Any outside alcohol brought in by guests will not be tolerated. All alcohol is to be purchased through The Stables and may not leave the property. Absolutely no drinking in the parking lot. We will not risk our Liquor License. We ask your guests to drink responsibly and do not drink and drive.
Q: Where is the parking located? A: The parking is in the field north of the venue. As you enter The Stables and head towards the right to loop in front, you then go straight towards the parking signs that will be out the day of the event.
Q: Are the guests allowed to leave their vehicles in the parking field overnight? A: Of course! We encourage anyone drinking to leave their vehicles with us overnight and to get a ride to their home or hotel.
Q: Is there handicap parking? A: Yes, we do have 2 handicap parking spots on the northeast side of the venue. We also have a golf cart that offers rides from the parking lot to the venue.
Q: What is the building next door? A: That is the corn crib. It has always been there and we are giving it a face lift currently. It will eventually be used as another dressing area and a place for storage. We do not have an approximate finish date and will not promise it to be finished by any certain time.
Q: Does the venue have heat and/or A/C? A: We do have heat, but unfortunately we are not able to put A/C in. Our venue is still a barn and we do not want to take away from the barn atmosphere. We have an air handler that will push out some cold air and help circulate the air in the barn. We also have some fans and do our best with the given weather at the time of the event and leading up to the event. We ask you to keep Illinois weather in mind when planning an outdoor event with us.
Q: Are there restrooms in the barn? A: Yes, our restrooms are air conditioned. We have separate Mens and Womens restrooms that are handicap accessible. We also have a diaper changing station in the Womens.
Q: I would love to have my ceremony at The Stables. What if it rains? A: In the event of rain, we would have your guests sit at their tables and perform the ceremony in front of the head table or anywhere else there may be room. We will keep an eye on the forecast the week of the wedding and make judgment calls. Rain on your wedding day is good luck anyways, right?!
Q: How late can the reception last. A: Your rental period ends Sunday. However, the reception should end Saturday at midnight. Last call for Alcohol will be 11:30 as our bartenders will start to clean up. Lights will dim on at 11:45.
Q: Are you available for a private showing? A: YES! We would love to book a free private showing with you. You may contact us at [email protected] or send us a facebook message with days and times that work best for you. We ask that you give us a 3 hour notice if you are unable to make your private showing. Any no-shows will not be rescheduled as a private showing. We will reschedule no-shows during an event or our cleaning hours. (We no longer do showing on Sundays)
Q: Where are the closest Hotels? A: The AmericInn and Motel 6 is a short drive into town on the left across from Farm King. There is also camping and R/V locations at Johnsons Sauk Trail Park.
Q: Is there a shuttle service close by? A: Yes, Tumbleson Automotive is a few minutes away from our venue. They offer a few options for shuttle services. Mention The Stables.
